Merhaba Binnur,
I am from a part of the world where it is hard to get cubanelle pepper. What could I use as substitute?
Hi,
Cubenelle pepper is Carliston biber.
You can substitute it with any kind of green pepper:)
Take care,

Hi Binnur,
I read that you say that you will be posting soem pastirma recipies but I cant see any.
Any ideas what I can do with it. I know to make with Kuru fasilye but do you have any other suggestions.
I live in Marmaris and my husband is turkish, Pastirma was on offer so i bought half a kg but not sure what to do with it apart from Kuru Fasilye
Thanks
Hi,
It is not easy to find good pastirma in Toronto. We have the great Sucuk here! I am hoping that I will be able to make some dishes with Pastirma this Winter:)
We mostly cook pastirma and sucuk in Winter times. Probably as you know, we Turks love to cook and eat seasonal vegetables and fruits. We have dishes for 4 seasons...because having them seasonal gives the best taste. Winter vegetables Winter time, Summer vegetables Summer time should be cooked to give the best taste to the dishes:) Mostly dry vegetables like kuru fasulye, mercimek, nohut have been eaten cold Winter days.
For these two reasons you haven't see any pastirma recipes in my blog. I am going to post couple of pastirma recipes in Winter:)
You can make with pastirma whatever you make with sucuk like kuru fasulye, yumurta, pide, borek.....:)
Cheers,
hi binnur my name is joanne and i live in wales i am looking for some special recipies to impress my mother in law with when we go to turkey in august please can u help
Hi Joanne,
I'd love to help you:) But I don't know what they like the most. Let your husband choose a few recipes for you.
Or choose which one would be more easy for you to cook. Then you can cook for your mother in law, too:)
Hi Binnur. We recently had a family holiday in Turkey and we loved it. I was looking for a recipe called "Chicken in oven" which we tasted at Nefis Pide in Fethiye. The dish was delicious and I have been trying to locate something similar but can't, could you please let me know if you have heard of this and if you know the recipe. I am also gonna try some of these yummy looking recipes. Thanks.
It is common name for the chicken cooked in the oven:) I don't know what was in the dish except chicken:)
It may be the different version of Chicken Tava which is I've already posted on the Chicken section.
Hey Binnur, my Mom won first runner up chef of France between 1959-1961. A German man snatched her up so she didn't compete in an official national contest again, but everyone who tastes her cooking knows she's an expert. My Mom HATES most food, we try to take her to expensive restaurants but she always says how she is better off cooking for herself at home because most people cook like crap LOL So I was SHOCKED when I made your Domatesli Tavuk Sote recipe and she LOVED it! So thank you, I have finally managed to make ONE dish that my mother thinks is grade-A!
