hello binnur,
since i found your website, it became one of my most used favourite websites, always looking forward to new recipes you publish.
my husband is from turkey (mersin), and told me recently that my cooking has improved so much over the last few months..:) thanks to you. do you have recipes from that part of turkey? i want to surprise him even more..:) also, i wanted to ask if you are going to sell your book in uk, as i would really love to buy it..if not, does amazon ship to uk as well? thank you again... lulu
Hi Lulu,
Thank you:) I am so glad that I can help your cooking:) Sure I am going to post some dishes from Mersin for you:)
Unfortunately my book is only available from Amazon's US site at Amazon.com.
But I believe they will ship it to the U.K.. They already ship to Turkey, Germany and France... Sorry for the inconvenience!
thank you binnur..:) do you have by any chance recipe for manti with nohut and some tomato salca? my husband said that's how they make it in mersin. i tried it once, he said it was nice .. but i made up that recipe myself, so maybe he just wanted to make me feel better..:) thank you
You are asking Manti filled with mashed chickpeas. Serves with yogurt and tomato sauce....mmmm:) It is delicious, I am going to post it for you in the future. I have a quite a long request list:)
Hi Binnur,
I was wondering if there's any way to make this dish without the chestnuts. I know it's the main part of the dish but my boyfriend doesn't really like them, although he loves Turkish food.
Could I substitute them with something else or take them out altogether? Would that defeat the purpose? :)
Thanks,
Deniz
P.S. Great website by the way.
asalamu alaikum and ramadan kareem .This is mashaAllah. I know lots of Turks who cooks great but seems to have the problem giving you a recipe. Shukran for the service.
My questiopn is do you use a special rice like jasmine ,natural or basmati?Take care wslm
Hi Zerine,
Thank you:) I use Uncle Ben's Converted long grain rice in all my recipes. But I love to use Turkish rice like Baldo to make my pilaf:)
Hi Deniz,
As you said chestnuts is the main ingredient:) Don't change the original recipe. You can have all the chestnuts for yourself!
Hi Binnur,
When do we add the butter to the pilaf?
AZLINA
Hi,
