Tomato Salad with Onion

(Soganli Domates Salatasi)

Tomato Salad with Onion
Tomato, peeled, diced
Red onion, sliced*
Parsley, chopped
Crushed Pepper (red pepper flakes)

Dressing:
Extra virgin olive oil
Wine vinegar
Salt
Pepper

Place the tomatoes, red onions and parsley in a salad bowl. Whisk all the dressing ingredients and pour all over them, toss. Sprinkle some crushed pepper on it. Wait for 15-20 minutes before serving it.

You can dunk the freshly baked Turkish bread into the salad and have it as light lunch on a summer day:)

*If you like you can crush the onion with salt by using your hands and rinse, then add into the salad:)

This looks delicious. I often have a tomato and onion salad for dinner in the summer, though I use white or yellow onion.

Hi Binnur,

Do you rub the onion with salt to take away the bitter taste before putting it into the salad? The dish looks appetizing.

Cheers,

Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,
No, you do not need to rub it in this recipe, but if you like, sure:)
