Love your recipes!
Hi Binnur, should the consistency of the batter be liquidy or more dense? My cake turned out moist, I added 1,5 half of flour and 1 cup of milk. I made it for the first time:)Love your recipie.
Hi,
I may say it is more close to dense, for sure it is not runny:)
Hi Binnur, can you please post your recipe for the chocolate islak kek? I have tried other recipes online, but the quantities are not accurate and they always turn out floury and bland. I have tried your recipes before and they have always turned out well-thank you! My husband is Turkish and I would love to surprise him with this cake :)

hello binnur I approched this cake maybe 10 times and simply every time it turns out very moist and i get the impresion that my flour doesnt rise. I prepare the cake with margarine and always follow the recipe. Not only this cake I am unsuccessful at, the problem are all the cakes of this kind.(other cakes bake well) is there any tip I should know?anne
Hi Ann,
Here is some tips:)
All the ingredients should be at room temperature, like butter (margarine), egg, milk.
Butter, sugar, milk and eggs should beat very well. It should be double or even triple its size.
The oven should be preheated.
I hope they are helpful:)
Thank You so much for your hints.I will definately stick to them and hopefully be successful soon.Take care
hi binnur.
i am going to make this cake, i just have one question. what kind of oil should i use to oil the mold ( olive, canola veg. etc? i decided to ask you because i don't want to use an oil that could negatively effect the taste of the cake :)
thanks a alot.
Hi,
I always use butter to oil the molds:)
Hello Binnur,
i've tried the recipe today and it was perfect! We live in Romania and my husband is Turkish and it was very difficult for me to learn how to cook Turkish style without professional help :))i've made about 15 of you recipes and i never missed! Thank you a lot!
Hello, Binnur, do you have the recipe for iki renkli kurabiye? They look so pretty, they are brown and white like this cake :)
Hello,
I have not posted it yet... probably in the future:)
Hi,
I made this cake using exact measurements and the batter turned out extremely runny, so I added another 1/2 or so of flour to get the right consistency. I also substituted 1/4 cup of flour with corn starch to make it more fluffy. I also reduced the sugar.
The cake did not raise much however it was still moist so I was really surprised. Looking at your comments I am not sure why the consistency was to liquid. I am not sure if I did something wrong. Regardless I will make it again.
