Do you have any suggestions on where I could get kavun in the USA? I love it! But I don't even know English name.

Hi,
Melon is a general name. There are many types of melon worldwide. Like North American "cantaloupe" or “honeydew” which grows in California from August to October:)

Hi
How do you make the roast chickpas to go with the melon appetizer?

Hi,
I don't, the roast chickpeas are part of Turkish cuisine.

You can find Turkish ingredients at Tulumba.com which is located in
New York. It is an online Turkish store. Here is the address;
http://www.tulumba.com/icy_qSrch.asp?ops=s&x=&tag=&s=leblebi

Thanks. I live in South Africa, so will have to make the appetizer without the chickpeas... Love your website and am using many recipes for a Turkish dinner soon

You can get chickpeas anywhere in south africa. Canned chickpeas would be your best bet

Hi,
These are not regular dried or canned chickpeas which are readily available,
but special roasted chickpeas called "Leblebi" in Turkish:)
