Great soup, I have some questions though:), 1)Are there any Turkish soups with arpa(barley) but not arpa sehriye? I was looking for some recipe but all that I found are with arpa sehriye and 2)Im not clear what that means?...is this sehriye made from barley:)? if anyone answered I'd be so grateful.greets
Hi,
1) There is a google search box on the right site of my blog, just
below the google ads. So you can search "barley" and if "TC" is selected, it will help you find the recipes you are look for.
2) Orzo means "arpa sehriye" in Turkish which is not arpa (barley).
Orzo is pasta shaped like pearls of barley that's why Turks call it orzo, arpa because of its shape.
3) Here is your soup:) You can use barley instead of wheat.

Oh thats very interesting:)Thank you very much for your answer I knew that Turkish ppl like to simplify things, but would never guess with arpa sehriye:)I was sure that it was made out of barley flour:)thx
Can I use yogurt instead of cream for this soup? I am not sure if it would work the same.
