Flat Beans Tava

(Fasulye Tava - Adana)

Flat Beans Tava
4 pieces chicken thighs
500 g flat beans, wash, trim both ends, then cut in bite sizes
2 large tomatoes, peeled, sliced
7-8 garlic cloves, peeled
1 cubanelle pepper, sliced
1 tbsp full red pepper paste, mixed with 1/4 cup water
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp butter
Salt
Pepper

Pour the olive oil in a medium size pot. Place the chicken thighs in it. Place the flat beans over the chicken. Arrange the tomato slices over the top side by side, don't leave any empty spaces. Sprinkle the garlic cloves on top. Place the cubanelle peppers over them like wind rose. Season with salt and pepper and pour red pepper paste all over it.

First, turn the heat to high to heat up the pot for about a minute or so. Then turn the heat down to low and cook for 1 hr and 30 minutes. Serve it with Turkish Pilav or Turkish bread on the side.

2 servings.

I don't know what flat bean is, but to see your picture is this similar with green beans ?
By the way, I tried your previous recipe (eggplant with tomato) - everybody loves the food, simple yet healthy - I add the sunny side egg for serving just to add calories into the food. Thank you for sharing your recipe ..

Hi Nisa-mom,
Thank you:) It is a good idea toserve it with the egg on the side:)

Green beans are popular throughout the USA and are often steamed or boiled.

Flat beans that I use in my dishes are flat, stringless green beans.
In Turkish cuisine they are cooked as an accompaniment to a variety of
main courses including lamb, beef, chicken or fish. They are also
cooked in olive oil as a side dish, here;

or cooked with eggs, here;

hi binnur. looks good. thanks for mentioning that it should be served with bread. this information helps a lot as what the dish is served with greatly effects the taste and everything. i usually bother you with my classic question " should this dish be served with bread, rice , pasta or burghul ?" but i didn't have to ask at this time. thank you :)
